Providing High-Purity, High-Quality Products
| The need for higher purity in materials is increasing due to rapid technical innovation in electronics and other high-tech areas. Responding to these customer needs, Nikko Shoji is engaged in providing high purity and high quality base metals (copper, etc.), rare metals (cobalt, indium, bismuth, etc.), and precious metals (gold, silver, palladium, etc.), ranging from base materials to processed products. We pride ourselves on responding to customer orders related to a broad array of applications such as sputtering target materials, metal powders, and metal foils. |

Involvement from the Development Stage
We focus on development-oriented marketing, in which we propose the most appropriate materials that meet the particular specifications of new products both to customers and manufacturers. To accomplish this task, we work in close collaboration with both domestic and overseas manufacturers from the material development stage, striving to supply optimal materials that meet the customers needs: for example, materials that meet new specs for the development or improvement of products such as sputtering target materials and metal powders.

Ultrafine Metal Powder
Necessary for the mounting of electronic components and the formation of chip circuits, Nikko Shoji proposes and supplies metal powders manufactured by a wide range of processes and designed to suit each customer’s particular application.
| Application examples: |
Conductive paste for use in electronic equipment; electromagnetic shielding; powder metallurgy; grinding powder; and various paints |
Example of need for conductive paste
The increasing miniaturization and sophistication of electronic products is requiring ever-finer circuits for PCBs and so on, as well as the cementation of extremely small components. To meet these needs, we have taken the lead in the Group’s development of metal powder composed of particles smaller than ever before, as well as multifunctional metal powders. |
Rare metals and rare earths
These materials are essential for the production of, for example, sputtering target materials such as ITO (indium tin oxide) for flat-panel displays. To ensure maximum customer satisfaction throughout the entire product lifecycle, we at Nikko Shoji act as a liaison point between base material manufacturers, processing manufacturers, and recycling companies. This is one of the many ways in which we rise to the challenges presented by customer needs.
| Products: |
High-purity metals (indium, bismuth, tellurium, rhenium, germanium, others) and rare earths such as oxides and chlorides |
| Applications: |
Sputtering target materials used in FPDs for PCs, cell phones, and digital appliances; conductive paste; lead-free solder materials
|
Examples of needs:
* Production of 4N-8N grade high-purity, high-quality alloys
* Timely procurement of materials from both domestic and overseas manufacturers
* Recycling of marketable substances from production processes |
