Environmental Policy

Nikko Shoji has positioned environmental policy as a top-priority management theme, and accordingly, is implementing a wide range of measures. The Company’s all offices, including Head Office, and plant have already been awarded ISO 14001 environmental management systems certification, and the Company is also vigorously fulfilling its role as a corporate citizen by promoting recycling in business activities and the detoxification of harmful, non-recyclable materials. Furthermore, the Company actively promotes the use of eco-friendly products such as alternatives to CFCs and other harmful substances.

Environmental Policy

Nikko Shoji Co., Ltd., as the trading arm of the Nippon Mining & Metals Group, which is an integrated producer of nonferrous resources and materials, will engage in the following operations under its basic policy of “Contributing to the preservation of global environment through the pursuit of improvement in the productivity of resources and materials.”

  1. Active involvement in environmental preservation efforts
    We will not only comply with all relevant environmental laws and regulations, but will also actively and continuously handle materials and develop products that help to further reduce the negative environmental impact of the business operations.


  2. Elimination of inefficiencies in business operations
    We will thoroughly reduce inefficiencies at all stages of our business operations to promote resource conservation and energy saving.


  3. Improvement of employees’ awareness of environmental preservation
    We will provide education and other programs on environmental management to make all employees more aware of the importance of environmental preservation.


  4. Disclosure of information
    We will disclose information in an active and non-biased manner, and promote communication with our stakeholders, regarding the condition of our business operations relating to environmental preservation.
